Honoring Veterans for Veterans Day

Posted by Adrian Alexander | Monday November 12th, 2018 | Topic: Design

Initially, Veterans Day was founded as Armistice Day in honor of the day WWI officially came to an end. In the wake of WWII, the day was shifted towards honoring all U.S. Veterans and not simply those who served in The War to End All Wars. Under either name, November 11 has marked the day that Americans look back at the service of the brave men and women who fight for this country with pride and honor their great sacrifice.

This year marks the 100th anniversary of the Armistice with Germany going into effect. In honor of this momentous occasion and in celebration of the great holiday, we’re taking a look back at some of the coins ordered by our corporate customers to honor the Veterans in their midsts.

Honoring Veterans Isn’t Just for the Military

When people think of corporations and companies, they often think of selfish CEOs looking to line their pockets. But the truth is that a lot of the coin orders we get in honor of Veterans come from some of our major corporation clients.

These customers know the value of people. They regularly purchase challenge coins in honor of their employees acknowledging that without them, they wouldn’t be able to do what they do. That same consideration is extended to the veterans in their lives when they order special challenge coins in honor of the holiday.

The Gatorade and Nestle coins manage to keep some element of their identity on the backs of their coins as well. The use of the Nestle font in the center of their coin is a particularly nice touch to keep their branding while making sure the majority of the surface area of the coin is dedicated to the troops.

One thing almost all of our Veterans Day coins have in common is the use of the military seals on their back face.

Images of these seals are something we keep on file so that when an order comes in looking to make use of them, our artists know exactly where to go to create these designs. How they’re put to use on your personal coin is up to you.

And if you’re looking to honor the veterans in your life, be sure to let us know. Our long experience making coins in honor of this particular holiday keeps us ready to create the best possible product for your order.
