All over the world, the 180,000 active duty Marines in service are united by their dedication to the Corp’s central values of honor, courage, and commitment. And it is not just active duty Marines. It is said that there is no such thing as an Ex-Marine because of the sense of pride and dedication that goes into becoming a United States Marine. It is an exclusive and elite group and once you are in, you are in for life. The close bonds formed through boot camp and during deployment are unique to the Marines through their shared experiences in both hardships and in success.

Signature Coins has been making custom Marine Corps challenge coins for over 15 years. We have had the honor of working with many other branches of the United States Military as well and it has always been our priority to provide high-quality, durable, and unique custom coins that do justice in representing the honor and selflessness of the brave service men and women of our nation. When we make Marine Corps Unite challenge coins we aim to provide coins that impart the same feelings of camaraderie, unity, and history that is the Marine Corps. All Marines are apart of the same elite Corps, however, the small differences in expertise, location, or personality within units should be celebrated.

Types of Marine Units
Subtle Differences in Personality

Marines are never afraid to be the first into battle and will never accept defeat. The Corps demands perfection, and Marines are determined to provide it through intense training, careful planning, and textbook execution. The Marine Corps has several types of units that each play an important role to ensure every Marine mission will end in success. There are:

  • Artillery Unit
  • Aviation Unit
  • Bases and Stations
  • Detachments
  • Divisions
  • Engineering Units
  • Expeditionary Units
  • Headquarters Agencies
  • Infantry Units
  • Logistics Units
  • Marine Forces
  • Recruiting Units
  • Reserves Units
  • Support Units

Each of these unit types has its own specialty and the men and women who serve in these units are capable of neutralizing any threat that comes their way. Marine unit challenge coins are used to build team camaraderie and represent all of the core values of individual teams. While the Marine Corps is made up of thousands of different people and hundreds of different units with the same set of principles and objectives, there are aspects that make each team unique.

These unique attributes are what give Marine units personality and spirit. It is everything from the unit’s nickname and emblems to the individual Marines within the unit. Custom coins can incorporate designs that evoke particular memories, values, or histories of a particular team. They are meant to be carried with pride and displayed with honor. They are symbols of your commitment to your team and the soldiers on either side of you.

A Meaningful Gift for Your Unit

At the end of boot camp, Marine recruits are given an emblem of the Corps and addressed as Marine for the first time by their drill sergeant. Many new Marines accept the emblem with tears in their eyes. The emotions of finishing basic training and being given the title of Marine is an incredible achievement. Boot camp is designed to push the limits of physical and mental capability and many are unable to finish. Those that do have proven to themselves and to the world that they are among the greatest warriors in the world. Marines are fearless and they are unstoppable together.

Custom Marine Corps unit challenge coins are used in the same way as the Marine Corps emblem at the end of training. They are personal gifts that carry emotional weight. They are used to show gratitude for a Marine’s sacrifices for our country, for their dedication to the Corps, and for their excellence in service. A custom challenge coin is a representation of acceptance into an elite team through dedication and sacrifice in service. It should be carried with pride and displayed with honor.
