A CBSA challenge coin is a custom coin made for a Canada Border Services Agency region, district, or port of entry and carried by the officers who work it. Most build on the agency crest — the crown, the maple leaves, and the Protectio, Servitium, Integritas motto — with the command named around the rim: Pacific Region, Pacific Highway District, Okanagan and Kootenay.
Ports of entry mint their own as well: anniversary coins marking the year a crossing opened, unit coins for use-of-force and detector-dog teams, and coins presented to officers transferring in or retiring out. See real district and port examples on our Canadian challenge coins page.
