Can a challenge coin use the RCMP crest or other official Canadian insignia?

Our art team can recreate any crest, badge, or unit emblem you send us, but official Canadian insignia carry approval rules of their own. Coins depicting official RCMP emblems and seals have to be approved by the RCMP Foundation first, and Canadian Armed Forces unit badges follow their own heraldic approvals. (No endorsement is stated or implied.)

Most agency coins sidestep the question entirely by building on unofficial artwork — a detachment nickname, a district outline, a Latin motto, a mascot, or a maple leaf treatment the unit has adopted as its own. Send whatever reference you have and we’ll design around what your organization is cleared to use. See real detachment and district examples on our Canadian challenge coins page.
