Introducing the New Custom Coin Design Template

Posted by Adrian Alexander | Tuesday November 6th, 2018 | Topic: Company

An Easier Way to Organize Your Thoughts

Since 2000, Signature Coins has accepted our customers’ design ideas in whatever format they’ve been prepared to deliver them to us. We’re fond of saying that our artists can create great custom coins armed with little more than a few rough ideas and a quickly sketched concept on a napkin, and it’s true. There’s no need to be an artist yourself to get your very own set of custom coins made. But we did decide to make organizing your design ideas a little bit easier. In the event you can’t find a spare napkin to doodle your ideas on, you can download the new Signature Coins Design Template.

The template was designed by Signature Coins artists to be easy to use and to give you the opportunity to include all of the needed information for getting the first proof of your coins designed and delivered quickly.

The New Template

The template features two areas for sketching your ideas for the front and back of your coins. Pair those sketches with written instructions in the notes section, or really anywhere on the page that suits you. The more details and information given to our artists, the easier it is for them to design something to your liking.

You can even check off multiple options and our artists can create different proofs to give you a visual of what each will look like. Also, our handy size guide is included. We know it can be difficult to get an accurate mental image of what a 2” coin really looks like, but with our visual references, you’ll be better able to get an idea.

Putting the Template Into Practice

For an example of how the template works, take a look at this order from the Kentucky Fire Commission.

The customer printed the template out, added their comments and designs to it, and then scanned it and emailed it back to us along with a few other reference photos. As a result of their help, our artists were able to come up with the following proofs.

The new template is purposefully laid out in the same fashion as our proofs so that you can perfectly see how your ideas were translated into the final product. What started as a few words on a sheet of paper is transformed into a full color proof of what could be your final coin. And as always, if you want any changes made to your proof, we offer free unlimited revisions.

The new custom coin design template isn’t a necessity to submit artwork and your ideas for your coin to us. You’re still welcome to send in your napkin sketches if you like. But if you’re looking for a quick and efficient way to perfectly visualize your coin, consider giving our artists your ideas on the new template!
