What is a military challenge coin?
A military challenge coin is a metal coin or medallion bearing a unit’s insignia, emblem, or motto, carried by the unit’s members. Commanders award them in recognition of special achievement, and service members carry them to prove membership when challenged and to build unit morale. The tradition started in the military and remains strongest there today.
What is a coin check?
A coin check is the tradition the challenge coin is named for. One member challenges the group by drawing their coin, and everyone present must produce their own unit coin. Anyone caught without their coin owes the group a round, and if everyone produces a coin, the challenger buys instead.
Can you match our unit's exact insignia or crest?
Yes. Send a clear photo, scan, or vector file of your unit’s insignia, crest, or patch and our art team will recreate it as coin artwork. We refine the detail so insignia read cleanly at coin size, and you get free unlimited revisions until the proof matches your unit exactly.
What is the minimum order for a unit or command?
Our minimum order for custom coins is 50 coins per design, with price breaks at 100, 300, 500, and 1,000 coins. If your unit needs fewer than 50, our no-minimum custom coin builder lets you order as few as one coin, and stock and personalized coins have no minimums at all.
Do you ship to APO or FPO addresses?
We do! We can ship to any APO, FPO, or DPO address. We do charge for shipping to these addresses. Standard shipping to US street addresses is always free.
How much do military challenge coins cost?
Challenge coins typically cost $5.00 - $7.00 per coin for a full production run of 100 coins. Pricing depends on a variety of factors including size, quantity, and coloration. Unit insignia and the standards surrounding them will often dictate coloration, while complexity and preference dictate size.
