Training at Naval Station Great Lakes
Completing boot camp at NSGL means surviving a rigorous seven to nine-week test of both a recruit’s physical and mental capability as they are instilled with the basic procedures and standards of a servicemember in the U.S. Navy. According to the station’s website, NSGL provides 80 percent of the U.S. Navy’s surface warfare specialty training and provides Base Operating Support for 50 tenant commands including:
