Allied Command Transformation (ACT) Challenge Coins

Look to the Future with Allied Command Transformation Challenge Coins

With the signing of the North Atlantic Treaty in 1949, NATO was created and transAtlantic cooperation and protection were assured. As a general rule, NATO attempts to resolve conflicts using negotiation and diplomacy first. In the event that diplomatic efforts fail to reach the desired outcome, and the decision is made that military action is required, the three military branches of NATO take action. NATO challenge coins can be used in recognition of the missions accomplished by North Atlantic Treaty Organization.

Once a decision is made to begin military actions, NATO relies on its Military Committee, Allied Command Operations (ACO) and Allied Command Transformation (ACT). NATO has very few permanent forces of its own. When the North Atlantic Council agrees to launch an operation, allied countries contribute military forces on a voluntary basis. Organizing how to best deploy and utilize the troops supplied by these different countries is a job that falls to ACO and ACT personnel. Allied Command Transformation challenge coins are one way of honoring ACT personnel for a job well done.

At Signature Coins, we’ve created coins for military organizations all over the world. U.S. Military branches, the Canadian Armed Forces and British Armed Forces have all taken advantage of our excellent customer service. With each of these countries being a part of NATO, it only makes sense that the Organization also take advantage of the top tier challenge coins from Signature Coins.

When Diplomacy Fails, NATO Will ACT

Allied Command Transformation is headed by the Supreme Allied Commander Transformation (SACT),  who exercises his responsibilities from headquarters in Norfolk, Virginia. It’s the only NATO command located in America. ACT’s primary focus is on the future and maintaining NATO’s posture and allowing NATO Command Structure (NCS) to efficiently command, control and support current and future operations.

  • ACT is organized around four principal functions:
  • Strategic thinking
  • Development of capabilities
  • Education, training and exercises
  • Cooperation and engagement

With these functions in mind, ACT works hand in hand with ACO to make sure that deployed troops aren’t stretched too thin to accomplish their goals and objectives, while also ensuring there are more troops on hand to maintain NATO’s power and control of situations that might come up in the future.

Allied Command Transformation personnel work behind the scenes to maintain Atlantic peace and sovereignty. Their work requires a lot of collaboration and cooperation with foreign militaries and bases. This sense of collaboration is something Signature Coins shares. Our team of artists and specialists work closely with our customers to make sure the best version of their vision can be realized in the coins they order.

Customize Your Allied Command Transformation Challenge Coins

Your options for customization of your Allied Command Transformation (ACT) challenge coins are varied. Each option exists to ensure you can perfectly represent the goals, mottos, emblems and colors associated with ACT and NATO. The different colors and insignia of the units involved in the mission can also be taken into consideration with the design of your coin.

To best help you make these choices, Signature Coins offers the following customization options:

  • Shape and Size — Our coins often range in size from 1” - 3” but larger oversized coins are quickly becoming more popular. While the circular coin shape is traditional, other shapes are also available.
  • Color — The full Pantone color spectrum is at your disposal for your coins. You can either leave the coin in a classic metallic coloration or choose up to seven colors for either, or both, sides of the coin.
  • 3D Options — Since Jan 1, 2017, 10.67% of Signature Coins orders have had a 3D mold, making it one of the most popular options. Raised lettering, logos or other design elements can really make your ACT challenge coins pop.
  • Coin Edge — Classically smooth, intricate crosscut and rope edge are just a few of the different options for the edge of your coin.
  • Plating — Challenge coins often make use of either gold, silver or copper plating, but our choices don’t stop there. If you’re having a hard time choosing one option, you can always combine two for a truly unique look.
  • Offset Printing — Offset printing creates an exact replica of an image or photograph on the surface of your coin.
  • Silk Screen — Let your coin maintain a perfectly smooth surface by silk screening your design’s colors onto the coin.
  • Epoxy Dome — Some customers like the original feel of the metal on the coin, but if you want a glassy and smooth finish over one or both sides of a coin, choose the epoxy dome option.
